图书封面Titlebook: Cell to Cell Signals in Mammalian Development; S. W. Laat,J. G. Bluemink,C. L. Mummery Conference proceedings 1989 Springer-Verlag Berlin
描述Developmental biology deals with the regulatory principles underlying the generation of a new organism. The up-to-date knowledge of the molecular and cellular mechanisms that guide mammalian development from a single cell through a complex and integrated process of cell multiplication, differentiation and organisation of cells into tissues and organs is presented in this volume. Aspects of the molecular nature and developmental significance of cell-to-cell signals focus on: - hoxgenes, their products and potential role in mammalian morphogenesis; - growth factors, their receptors and signal transduction, and their role in guiding cell multiplication, differentiation and transformation; and - cell adhesion and extracellular matrix molecules, as short-range cell-to-cell signals in mammalian development.

Cell Adhesion in MorphogenesisAnimal morphogenesis results from a complex set of autonomous and interactive cellular behaviors which include cell proliferation, adhesion, movement, differentiation and death. How these different primary processes are so precisely regulated during embryonic development is one of the major issues that faces the molecular embryologist.

Anita Böcker,Dietrich Thränhardtsequences homologous to developmental control genes of Drosophila could lead to the identification of genes with a related function in the mammalian genome. Indeed, based on this hypothesis, several candidates for mammalian developmental control genes have been identified. Undoubtedly most effort ha

The Role of Emotions in Coachingdy the mutant embryo phenotypes in order to gain some insight into the functions of the genes represented by the mutant alleles. Although this approach has been very successful in organisms well-suited to genetic analysis, such as the fruit fly (.) and the nematode (.), attempts to identify genes th

The Role of Emotions in Coachingter, at least three classes of genes are involved in the regulation of expression of genes for the establishment of the body pattern and segment identity. Among them, the homeotic genes responsible for the segment identity have been shown as being clustered in two major loci: the . complex (Ant-C) a
